Chelsea Factory

Located in the heart of West Chelsea, just steps from the High Line and Chelsea galleries, Chelsea Factory is a flexible industrial space with a robust history (Annie Leibovitz’s former studio). With two modular, fully flexible venues, connected by a removable air wall, Chelsea Factory can transform for a variety of events and activations, including upfronts, product and brand exhibitions, fashion shows, music concerts, car launches, and more.

  • Debuting to much fanfare in December of 2021, the non-profit Chelsea Factory was purposefully conceived as a five-year pop-up, serving the post-pandemic needs of a recovering New York City arts community. Designed for everything from incubation to presentation, it boasts 8675 square feet divided into two distinct spaces — although the venue is available to rent in its entirety. A removable wall allows for maximum flexibility and customization and can further divide the space into distinct performance, exhibition, rehearsal, or meeting areas.

There is a total seating capacity of 350, as well as an optional, 160-seat black box theater. Much of the programming is uniquely focused on historically excluded talent, making it a singular destination for the surprising and unexpected. (All rental income goes towards subsidizing artists’ use of the space). Located amidst all the art world buzz of its namesake neighborhood, Chelsea Factory is perfect for auto launches, fashion shows, conferences, experiential pop-ups and more.
