Donwill is a DJ with hosting skills who is skilled at reading rooms and keeping dance floors moving. While hip hop is his primary discipline his DJ sets are a genre bending blend of funk, soul, disco and R&B mixed only as someone raised on rap music can do. He currently hosts The Almanac of rap - a Webby award winning podcast - in partnership with Okayplayer and Too Much rap on the newly relaunched East Village Radio.

    He’s very well known in the comedy scene as Michelle Buteau’s tour DJ as well as the co-host of “Shouting at the Screen” - an interactive event based on Blaxploitation cinema - with former Daily Show correspondent Wyatt Cenac. He is also the house DJ for several prominent New York comedy shows and works alongside comedians like Ilana Glazer, Janelle James, Micheal Che, Hannibal Buress and several more on a very regular basis.


    Donwill is a notable presence in the world of hip hop as well As a member of the acclaimed hip-hop duo Tanya Morgan which formed in 2006 and continues to release new music. He was also a music producer for HBO’s “Last Week Tonight with John Oliver”, ZIWE on Showtime and Slate’s award winning Slow Burn Podcast.
