Glen Matlock

Glen Matlock is one of the most renowned figures to come out of the original British punk explosion of the late 70s. A founding member and original bass player for the Sex Pistols, he notably penned “Pretty Vacant”, arguably punk’s most explosive anthem. He would go on to high-profile collaborations with the likes of Iggy Pop, Earl Slick, Primal Scream and Mick Jones of The Clash. Most recently, he spent much of 2022 and 2023 touring with Blondie, whilst cultivating a new career as a singularly talented DJ.

  • Glen Matlock is one of the most renowned figures to come out of the original British punk explosion of the late 70s. A founding member and original bass player for the Sex Pistols, one of the few most important bands ever, he notably penned Pretty Vacant, arguably punk’s most explosive anthem. He would go on to later form the influential post-punk group Rich Kids, before a string of high-profile collaborations with the likes of Iggy Pop, Earl Slick, Primal Scream and Mick Jones of The Clash. Most recently, he spent much of 2022 and 2023 touring with Blondie, whilst also releasing his critically acclaimed solo album Consequences Coming on Cooking Vinyl in 2023. His 1998 memoir I was a teenage Sex Pistol is currently being developed into a new documentary about the Pistols. And amidst all that, he continues to cultivate a new career as a singularly talented DJ.
