Donwill is a notable presence on the New York music scene, as a member of the acclaimed hip-hop group Tanya Morgan, as a music producer for HBO’s “Last Week Tonight with John Oliver” and Buzzfeed’s “Another Round” podcast, and also as a hard-working DJ for hire with an inimitable style. His skills on the decks have been employed by a wide array of clients, everyone from Discovery Channel to Etsy, Soul Cycle to Google to local stalwarts Prospect Park Alliance (Donwill is a native of Brooklyn, by the way.) But despite his busy schedule, and Tanya Morgan’s prolific output (12 EPs and albums since 2005), he still has time for a “side” career in comedy, co-hosting “Shouting at the Screen” - an interactive event based on Blaxploitation cinema - with former Daily Show correspondent Wyatt Cenac, and acting as DJ “sidekick” to comedians like Michelle Buteau and 2 Dope Queens.
